22.6.11

It’s been a while since we’ve actually updated you all on what’s been happening in the Easton household, so I thought I’d take a few minutes to fill you in. : )

We started the summer off by spending a week with some close friends and family. The end of May we were fortunate enough to take a week and head up to camp out at Brit’s folk’s farm. It’s a little retreat for us every time we go. We were able to spend some time with Travis, Jenna, Zeya and their newest one Lily Katherine as well as some close college friends we see only a few times a year. It was a great get-a-way, but left us anxious and excited about our next vacation planned the end of July where we’ll hopefully get to spend some time camping at Itasca State Park.

We found out mid May that we’ll be having another boy this September. We’ve chosen to name him Mazlin Thomas, after Brit’s older brother, Thomas Grant, who lived four days after his birth. Mazlin means “little Thomas” and found it quite fitting to place “Mazlin” and “Thomas” together. The official due date is September 24, however we’re anticipating an earlier delivery if things go anything like the delivery of Honor. The pregnancy is going really well this time, and we’re so relieved to be feeling a very active little boy through Brit’s belly!

Brit’s still working Mondays and Fridays at Floor to Ceiling Carpet One here in Detroit Lakes. She loves the people she works with and it’s a great opportunity for her to get out of the house a few times a week. It also provides a great daddy/Honor day on Mondays and Papa & Mema (Grandpa and Grandma Johnston) day on Fridays! However, Brit’s great joy is the time she gets to spend every day with our growing, active, amazing little boy Honor.

I don’t even know where to start with Honor…he’s by far the cutest, smartest, most adorable little boy on this plant, and even though I’m biased, what I speak is the truth! : ) He’ll be 2 already in September and it just blows our minds how much he’s learning every day. The time seriously goes so fast. We just transitioned him into his “big boy” bed and he’s loving it. He has his own room and it’s blue! His bed is 5 times his size, but he loves to snuggle his bear and his blankey right in the middle of it. He’s putting words together and forming little sentences and one of the cutest things he says right now is “tum daddy…tum mom” as he cocks his head and beckons us to follow him on his next adventure. Honor knows his little brother is in mommy’s belly and will often lift up Brit’s shirt to kiss him. It’s so sweet, but I don’t think he has any idea what’s coming. He’s a great listener and loves to play outside with golf clubs, basket balls and his bike!

I’m finishing up my third year as a pastor at Lakes Area Vineyard Church here in Detroit Lakes. I really enjoy the work I get to do and have been preaching about once a month. This summer was supposed to be a bit laid back, but it’s proving to be just as busy as the spring. We’re definitely always on our toes around here and the lists are always growing and never ending. The greatest part of my job though is the opportunity I get to build relationships with people that are growing in their relationships with Jesus. It’s so fun to watch God work in people’s lives and every time I see transformation happen because of Jesus, I’m reminded why I do this.

We love you all very very much, and want you to know that you’ll always have a place to stay at the Easton Bed and Breakfast…however we can’t guarantee sleep past 7am. : ) Keep us in your prayers, especially as we prepare for Mazlin’s arrival!

With love,

Troy
